History

JML was founded in 1970 by Maurice Beebe of Temple University, who served as editor-in-chief until his death in 1986. His successor Morton P. Levitt (1936-2022) served as editor until 2005. In 2000, the journal was purchased by Indiana University Press. It is now overseen by nine co-editors listed above.
